Members of the firm have experience in handling
a variety of aviation-related customs and immigration problems.
The firm has represented various clients in
seizure and forfeiture proceedings and has counseled aircraft lessors on ways to protect
their interests against possible forfeiture proceedings. The firm advises clients
regarding compliance with the various requirements of the immigration and customs laws,
and represents U.S. and foreign airlines in enforcement matters before the Customs Service
and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. The firm has successfully handled
numerous immigration appeals and customs enforcement matters.

- Export
and Foreign Asset Control
The firm regularly advises clients on export control and
foreign asset control matters. For example:
- We advise clients on the scope of permitted exports and
aircraft operations to countries that are subject to
export and reexport controls.
- We advise clients on the scope of permitted
transactions involving countries (i.e., embargoed
countries) that may be subject to foreign asset controls.
- We assist clients with applications for U.S. Department
of Commerce ("DOC") licenses that authorize the
exportation of such U.S. commodities as: aircraft
and aircraft parts; medicine; medical devices;
agricultural commodities; and humanitarian donations.
- We assist clients with applications for Office of
Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) licenses that authorize,
among other things, carrier and travel services with
respect to embargoed countries. The firm has
